This week, 5 engineering students from ONU delivered their capstone project of a squeeze machine to occupational therapy staff at Ada Elementary. A squeeze machine helps children with sensory needs get the deep pressure they crave to regulate and be ready to learn! The students collaborated with our occupational therapist, Nichole Dearth, all year to build a product that would fit our students needs and we so appreciate their hard work!

Ohio State University Extension in Hardin County, in a partnership with Ohio Jobs and Family Services in Hardin County and the Kenton FFA, is planning a Family Engagement Event on Sunday 4/27 from 1-5 p.m. for Child Abuse Awareness Month. This event is free and is funded by the Ohio Children’s Trust Fund. The event will be held at the Hardin County Fairgrounds, 14134 Letson Ave, Kenton, OH 43326 from 1-5 p.m. **There will be free inflatable games and a trackless train. **4-H Line Dancing **Grab and Go Activities provided by OSU Extension! Thank you to our Master Gardener Volunteers, 4-H Youth Development, Family and Consumer Sciences, and SNAP Education. **We have some amazing door prizes. Each child/youth in attendance (birth to HS senior) will be given a raffle ticket to place in the bucket of the prize they would like to win and drawings will begin at 4:30 p.m. **Food will be grab and go healthy snacks and not a meal since the time is 1-5 p.m. (i.e. pretzels, granola bars, fruit snacks, applesauce, etc.)

This Friday, April 25, 2025, students will have a 2-hour delay to allow time for staff professional development. Thank you!

🎉 Big congratulations to Sylis! 🎉 Last summer, Sylis completed an impressive 233.5 hours with our tech department as part of a paid internship through the state. He worked alongside our favorite IT guys, Tim and Sam, gaining hands-on experience and making a real impact behind the scenes at Ada Schools. Thanks to all his hard work, Sylis will now graduate high school with a state-certified internship certificate — a huge accomplishment that sets him up for even greater success in the future! Participants are invited to perform during the Annual Ada High School Spring Fever Follies on Friday May 9th, 2025! The Jr VS will be directed by Mr. Henning and Miss Daniels.
