Ada Schools is putting a new spin on its traditional Veterans Day observance this year. Because students will be in school on Veterans Day, Ada Schools will welcome area veterans to join students for breakfast, fellowship and a student-led Veterans Day Honor Ceremony.
As in years past, Ada Schools invites all area veterans to attend the Veterans Day Breakfast on Wednesday, November 11, beginning at 8:15 a.m. In addition to the open invitation, students in grades K–12 will receive invitations to take home and are encouraged to invite a veteran—whether a family member, friend or community member—to attend the breakfast and Honor Ceremony. Veterans who register with a student will get to sit together at the Breakfast.
The event will give veterans an opportunity to visit with students while enjoying breakfast and attending a program featuring patriotic music, welcoming remarks, a guest veteran speaker and student-led recognition of those who have served and those who are currently serving our country.
A special focus of this year's observance will be student involvement. All Ada students in grades K–12 will attend the Honor Ceremony, and throughout the week, teachers will incorporate Veterans Day lessons into their classrooms. Students will learn about the branches of military service, the history and meaning of Veterans Day, and the importance of showing gratitude and appreciation for those who have served and those who continue to serve our country.
By bringing veterans and students together, Ada Schools hopes to create a meaningful opportunity for students to learn directly from those who have served while expressing their gratitude in a personal and memorable way.

The breakfast will take place in the Ada Schools Cafeteria. Veterans and guests are asked to park in the south parking lot and enter through the doors near the cafeteria. School staff will be available at the entrance for check-in.
Following breakfast, all attendees are invited to attend the Veterans Day Honor Ceremony in the High School gymnasium.
Registration is required to attend the event. To register, please complete the Google Form, have your student return the paper registration form, or call the Ada High School office at 419-634-2746 by October 21.
