Ada Schools is pleased to share two weekend food support programs available to help provide supplemental food to students throughout the school year. Both programs are completely optional and are designed to support families who may benefit from additional food assistance over the weekend.
Bulldog Backpack Blessings — Elementary School
The Ada Food Pantry offers the Bulldog Backpack Blessings Program for Ada students in grades K–5.
Through this program, participating elementary students will receive a bag of non-perishable food items to take home each Friday, or the last day of the school week, for the duration of the school year. The goal of the program is to help provide children with food over the weekend while supporting student health, attendance, and academic success.
Distribution will begin Friday, Sept. 25, 2026.
Families who feel they would benefit from this assistance may complete the program form and return it to the Ada Elementary School office. Participation is completely optional, and families may discontinue participation at any time by contacting the elementary office at 419-634-2341. The form is available on the website.
To protect student privacy, food bags will be discreetly placed in participating students' classroom cubbies before Friday or the last day of the school week.
Bulldog Backpack Bites — Middle & High School
Ada Middle and High School students can participate in Bulldog Backpack Bites, a weekend food program created through a partnership between United Way of Hardin County, OhioHealth, and Quest Federal Credit Union.
The program provides supplemental food items to participating middle and high school students to take home and enjoy over the weekend. Food bags will be discreetly placed in students' lockers on Fridays.
