ADA, OH — The Patriotic Pops concert will return to Ada on Sunday, June 28, 2026, bringing an evening of music, community pride, and celebration to the school grounds along Grand Avenue. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
Led locally by Bryan Marshall, the return of Patriotic Pops highlights the strong sense of community support in Ada. The Lima Symphony Orchestra will perform under the direction of conductor Lloyd Butler.
Attendees can expect a variety of musical selections, including patriotic favorites such as the Armed Forces Salute honoring those who have served in the military. A crowd favorite, “Hang on Sloopy,” will once again be part of the tradition, along with selections from Broadway and popular movie soundtracks.
The outdoor concert will feature open lawn seating, and guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. The performance will last approximately 90 minutes and include an intermission. Food trucks will also be on-site, offering a range of options to complement the evening.
In case of inclement weather, the concert will be moved indoors to the Ada High School gymnasium.
Superintendent Simmons shared excitement about hosting an event that welcomes the entire community. “We have a lot of community members who don't have children or grandchildren, who maybe don't step onto our campus, so I'm excited by the opportunity,” Simmons said. “Our community has supported the schools in so many ways. This is an opportunity to give back.”
The concert is entirely funded through sponsorships and individual donations, with a total cost of $31,000 to produce. Organizers emphasize that continued community support makes events like this possible. To support the event please contact Bryan Marshall at 419-234-3309.
As part of the nationwide America 250 celebration marking the 250th anniversary of the United States, this year’s Patriotic Pops serves as a fitting way for the Ada community to join in honoring the nation’s history.
The Patriotic Pops concert also offers a great introduction to the Lima Symphony Orchestra, which performs a full season at the Veteran’s Memorial Civic Center.
